Senior Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings publicly praised Nancy Pelosi’s extended leadership Monday morning; saying she can be Speaker of the House “until she decides to leave” should their party retake control this November.
Cummings was speaking with the Hill when he was asked to comment on Pelosi’s political future if Democrats post big wins during the 2018 midterm elections; saying “I think she’s a phenomenal speaker.”
“She knows the members. I can’t think of anybody in the House that could have seen through the passage of something like the Affordable Care Act,” said Cummings. “I expect Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker, and I believe that she will be Speaker until she decides to leave.”
“Nancy has worked hard, and they tried to make her the boogie woman,” he said. “The reason why they tried to do that is because she is effective. Even under the circumstances that we’re in now, when I look at the budget that we passed, I mean the appropriations that we’re doing, clearly her leadership shines through.”

ARMAGEDDON AGAIN: Pelosi Says ‘CIVILIZATION AT RISK’ in 2018 Midterms
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi doubled-down on her anti-Trump rhetoric this week, saying “civilization as we know it as at risk” should the Republicans continue to lead Congress following the 2018 midterm elections.
Pelosi was speaking with Rolling Stone magazine when she was asked to comment on how the Democrats were prepared to flip districts won by President Trump in 2016; saying “How do you narrow it down?”
“Civilization as we know it today is at risk in this election. We have to win. We have to win. So you can’t spread your money too thinly, because you can run the risk,” said the leading Democrat.
“If the election were today – no question we would win. But you have to be aware of the undercurrents. Because you don’t know what can come along – and what comes along eclipses what you’re doing,” she added.
Pelosi’s comments come as the over-hyped “blue wave” predicted for this November continues to crash and burn, with some polls showing the once double-digit Democrat advantage reduced to just a few points.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Pelosi Says Waters ‘STRIKES FEAR IN THE HEART’ of President Trump
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi publicly praised Rep. Maxine Waters’ non-stop assault on President Trump this week; saying the firebrand Congresswoman “strikes fear in the heart” of the Commander-in-Chief.
Pelosi was wishing Waters a happy birthday message on social media when she weighed-in on the California legislator’s never-ending calls to “impeach 45,” writing “Happy birthday to my friend and colleague @RepMaxineWaters. You are a strong, courageous and dedicated role model who knows how to get the job done. And that strikes fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump.”

Pelosi has been largely silent on Waters’ demand that fellow Democrats act aggressively towards the removal of President Trump in recent months; vowing to take her impeachment message into the 2018 midterm elections.
