Texas Governor Greg Abbott continues to send buses filled with illegal migrants to Washington D.C. in an effort to get President Biden to act on the problems at the southern border; a third bus has arrived in the nation’s capital.
According to Fox News, “a third migrant bus arrived in Washington D.C. around 8 a.m. Friday as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott‘s efforts to counter federal immigrant policies amid the current border crisis.”
“Texas began sending an unspecified number of buses en route to Washington DC on April 8, following Gov. Abbott’s statement that Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) officials would be transporting migrants released in Texas communities to the nation’s capital. The White House initially described it as a “publicity stunt,” with many assuming the governor would not follow through. The Friday bus carried approximately 30 migrants,” Fox continues.
Abbott says 1.6 million people have crossed the border into Texas illegally in the last 15 months. There have also been 222,000 “gotaways” that evaded U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Abbott shared a clip of a recent appearance where he spoke about the border crisis:
“Texas will continue securing the border as Biden and Congress IGNORE this crisis.”
