Former Attorney General Eric Holder faced a growing backlash on social media Tuesday after bizarrely asserting that Republicans filling vacant court seats is the same as “court packing.”
“THIS is court packing,” writes Holder, re-tweeting a post that reads “Kathryn Mizelle is up for a committee vote Thursday. She was rated Not Qualified, is only 8 years out of law school & hasn’t tried a case since her admission to the bar. It’s not just SCOTUS: Senate is working to confirm judges at all levels instead of passing COVID relief.”

No. Filling existing vacancies in the judiciary is not court-packing. It wasn't court-packing when Republicans said it during the Obama administration and it's not court-packing when Democrats say it now. https://t.co/BDGp79XyVO

FAILURE TO LAUNCH: Eric Holder Confirms He Won’t Run for the White House in 2020
Former Attorney General Eric Holder confirmed Monday that he will not run for the White House in 2020; saying he plans to “fight to elect the right Democratic president” in the coming months.
“There is in the United States today a crisis of leadership — caused and perpetuated by an administration that uses fear to stoke divisions and lies to support broken policies,” Holder writes in the Washington Post.
“Though I will not run for president in 2020, I will continue to fight for the future of our country through the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and its affiliates,” he adds.
“The party should never lose sight of our primary objective: making sure a Democratic president is sworn in on Jan. 20, 2021. I will do my part to help make that possible, while leading an effort to ensure fairness in our democracy,” Holder concludes.

ANARCHY IN OREGON: Antifa Attacks Rock Portland, Riot Police Dispatched
Riot police were dispatched Saturday night after a march for “Law and Order” turned violent on the streets of Portland Oregon; descending into an all-out brawl after “rival political factions” attacked each other.
“Members of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer and their black-clad adversaries, known as antifa, used bear spray, bare fists and batons to thrash each other outside Kelly’s Olympian, a popular bar on Southwest Washington Street,” writes the Oregonian.
“The melee, which lasted more than a minute, ended when riot cops rushed in and fired pepper balls at the street fighters,” adds the article.
The stunning violence comes just days after leading Democrats -including former Attorney General Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton- fired-off heated rhetoric that urged their supporters to ramp-up confrontations with Republican voters and politicians.
“When they go low, we kick them!” yelled Holder at a recent speaking event.
“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” said Clinton during an interview with CNN.
