WEEK 5: VP Harris Appointed Border Czar 35 Days Ago, Still No Briefing or Press Conference

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.29.21

Vice President Kamala Harris was appointed ‘Border Czar’ 35 Days ago by President Biden and has so far failed to deliver any major speech or press conference on the subject.

“The kind of work that has to happen is the diplomatic work that we have been engaged in, including my calls to the president of Mexico, the president of Guatemala,” Harris said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “But it’s not going to be solved overnight. It’s a complex issue. Listen, if this were easy, it would have been handled years ago.”

“It’s really unbelievable, again, that either the president or the vice president has not gone down to the border,” said former DHS acting Secretary Chad Wolf.

“Now, I understand the president’s busy,” he continued. “The vice president should be down at that border, understanding what is going on, talking to the law enforcement, talking to the men and women, talking to the sheriffs, talking to the ranchers, and understanding the impact that that much illegal immigration per month is having on those communities down there.

Vice President Kamala Harris was asked to comment on the spiraling border crisis taking place across the southern United States this week; blaming the total breakdown of law and order on “extreme climate.”

“We are looking at extensive storm damage because of extreme climate, we’re looking at drought in an area in a region where agriculture is one of the most traditionally important basis for their economy, we’re looking at what’s happening in terms of food scarcity as a result of that and in fact, incredible food insecurity, which we used to call hunger food insecurity,” she said.

“And we are looking at, therefore, a number of issues that also relate to poverty, extreme poverty. And also there’s violence obviously coming out of those regions,” she said. “When you look at the root causes, we’re also looking at issues of corruption. Again, we’re looking at the issue of climate resiliency and then the concern about a lack of economic opportunity.”

“The U.S. is seeing a dramatic surge in migration at the border, with 172,000 migrants encountered in March alone — and thousands more estimated to have evaded Border Patrol. The spike in unaccompanied children and migrant families in particular has overwhelmed facilities and led the Biden administration to rapidly opening facilities to house them,” reports Fox News.

“Republicans have pointed to the Biden administration’s rollback of the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), narrowing of interior enforcement and the decision not to apply Title 42 public health protections to unaccompanied children as reasons for the surge,” adds Fox.

President Biden spoke with ABC News this week on a series of issues including the massive influx of migrants arriving at the US-Mexico border; saying undocumented workers aren’t showing up “because I’m a nice guy!”

“The idea that Joe Biden said come — I heard the other day that they’re coming because, you know, I’m a nice guy,” said Biden.

“They’re saying this!” fired-back George Stephanopoulos.

“Yeah, well here’s the deal, they’re not!” fired-back the President.

BIDEN on ???: ‘This Makes Jim Crow Look Like Jim Eagle!’

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.26.21

President Biden held his first solo press briefing from the White House Thursday after 64 days in office; answering questions pertaining to immigration, the Coronavirus pandemic, and working with Republicans.

“This makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle! I mean this is gigantic!

Original Story:

President Biden is poised to deliver his first solo press conference with members of the media today shortly after 1PM; ending a nine-week blackout that defies nearly a century of White House tradition.

“During past administrations, it took former President Trump 28 days to hold a press conference, only 21 days for former President Obama, and 34 days for former President George W. Bush,” reports Fox News.

The briefing comes just hours after Biden appointed his Vice President -Kamala Harris- to lead the administration’s response to the spiraling crisis surrounding the US-Mexico border.

“President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he has appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead efforts on stemming migration across the U.S.-Mexico border as the administration faces growing political pressure to address a surge in undocumented migrant children unaccompanied by parents,” reports NBC News.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador blamed US President Joe Biden for the massive influx of migrants from Central America moving across the United States’ southern border Wednesday; saying he signaled they would be “treated better” than the Trump administration.

“Expectations were created that with the government of President Biden there would be a better treatment of migrants. And this has caused Central American migrants, and also from our country, wanting to cross the border thinking that it is easier to do so,” Obrador told reporters.

“People don’t go to the United States for fun, they go out of necessity,” he added.

“They see [Biden] as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States,” said the Mexican President. “We need to work together to regulate the flow, because this business can’t be tackled from one day to the next.”

Furious Republican lawmakers sent a scathing letter to the Department of Homeland Security this week after the agency reportedly released illegal migrants into the United States without court dates.

“Despite your repeated claims that ‘the border is secure,’ these reports raise serious questions about DHS’ commitment to faithfully enforcing the law,” said the statement signed by 14 legislators.

“Multiple Border Patrol agents confirmed the new process to Fox News, revealing that they have been directed to use prosecutorial discretion to forgo the hours-long process of paperwork required to issue an NTA amid the surge of migrants at the border,” reports Fox News.
