Countless Venezuelans hoarded water in buckets, empty bottles, and oil drums in recent days as supplies run dry across the socialist country.
“Venezuela’s economic collapse has left most homes without reliable running water, so Caracas resident Iraima Moscoso saw water pooling inside an abandoned construction site as the end of suffering for thousands of her poor neighbors,” reports the Associated Press.
“Workers had long ago stopped building a nearby highway tunnel through the mountain above them. Yet, spring water continued to collect inside the viaduct and then stream past their homes, wasted. The construction firm had also left behind coils of tube,” adds the AP.
“Everybody here has water,” said Moscoso, seated on the stairs of her hillside neighborhood of cinder block homes. “We all benefit.”
“They don’t have an alternative,” said another local. “You can’t stay at home locked inside if you don’t have water.”

A NEW LOW: Rashida Tlaib Accuses STEVE SCALISE of ‘Islamophobia’ for Condemning Anti-Semitism
Recently sworn-in Rep. Rashida Tlaib blasted GOP Rep. Steve Scalise Wednesday evening; accusing the lawmaker of “Islamophobia” after he demanded Ilhan Omar be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee for her anti-Semitic statements.
“Hard to watch Rep. Scalise demand that Rep. @IlhanMN be removed from House Foreign Affairs w/o wondering if it’s steeped in Islamophobia. Ilhan is more than capable of sitting on the committee & making decisions that are in the best interests of her constituents & all Americans,” posted Tlaib on social media.

IN THE DARK: Blackouts Now Impacting 91% of Venezuela, NO INTERNET, Maduro Blames the US
Nationwide blackouts continue to cripple Venezuela this week as outside groups now believe 91% of the once oil-rich nation is without internet access; raising serious questions over the safety and security of citizens across the country.
“Another massive, nationwide blackout struck Venezuela early Wednesday just as service was gradually being restored from two days of intermittent service,” reports Yahoo News. “The group calculates that 91 percent of Venezuela has lost connection to Internet.”
Socialist President Nicolas Maduro continues to blame his country’s infrastructure problems on the United States; accusing Washington of launching “electrical warfare” against Venezuela.
The disastrous blackouts are making the daily lives of Venezuela’s residents nearly impossible; shutting down mass transit and making hospitals and other emergency services largely unusable.
