RINGLEADER IDENTIFIED: Alleged UFC White House Attack Plotter Was DACA Recipient, DHS Says

Federal officials have identified Abraham Alvarez as the alleged ringleader of a foiled mass casualty plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House on June 14.

According to Homeland Security information first obtained by Fox News Digital, Alvarez is a Mexican national who remained in the United States after his B2 visa expired and later received deportation relief through the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2014.

Authorities say Alvarez entered the United States as a child and failed to depart after his visa expired in 2001. He subsequently qualified for DACA protections, which shield certain undocumented immigrants who arrived as minors from deportation and provide temporary work authorization.

Federal investigators allege Alvarez played a central role in organizing a sophisticated attack plan targeting the White House UFC event.

According to court filings, five co-conspirators have been arrested so far this month for allegedly participating in a scheme involving explosive-equipped drones. Investigators claim the drones were intended to trigger a mass evacuation from the event, creating chaos that would then be exploited by a separate team of alleged snipers positioned to open fire on attendees.

Authorities contend Alvarez was responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operation.

Court documents previously identified Alvarez as a foreign national after he consented to consular notification following his arrest. However, the records did not disclose his country of origin or specific immigration status.

Following his arrest, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged an immigration detainer against Alvarez.

Alvarez was taken into custody by the FBI in Omaha, Nebraska, on the day of the event.

The White House and FBI declined to comment on the status or whereabouts of other individuals allegedly involved in the plot, with the White House directing inquiries to a Department of Justice press release.

DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis sharply criticized the circumstances that allowed Alvarez to remain in the United States.

“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” Bis said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.”

Bis added that Alvarez “will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country.”
