The cast of SNL parodied the Democratic candidates in their opening skit over the weekend. While the show typically goes easy on Democrats, they went for the jugular this time. As the old saying goes, “there is a grain of truth in every joke.” The truths that this skit points out highlight many of the major weaknesses in the Democratic field of candidates.
The parody kicked off with an announcer stating, “Let’s meet our future MSNBC contributors.” Jason Sudeikis, playing the role of Biden, said, “Joe Biden is going to do what Joe Biden does the best, creep up from behind. Just when you think your lead is safe, my numbers are going to come up and surprise you with a nice, sweet kiss on the neck.”
The live audience erupted when the Saturday Night Live cast members pointed out that Bernie Sanders has spent over one million dollars flying on private jets. Larry David, portraying Sanders, said he likes to fly privately to avoid annoying the flying public with his loud chewing and frequent trips to the bathroom.

WATCH: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Mocks Biden, Democrats’ Disastrous Debate Performance
‘Saturday Night Live’ viciously mocked the Democrats’ fifth presidential debate over the weekend; highlighting the insane proposals promoted by Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and others.
With a star-studded cast, the cast pulled out all the tops, reenacting some of the cringeworthy moments of last week’s Democratic presidential debate.
“America, I see you. And I see the faces you make when I talk – you’re scared,” Woody Harrelson, flashing a mouth of white, chicklet-like teeth as Crazy Uncle Joe Biden, said. “Scared I’ll say something off-color, or even worse, on color.”

LIVID FROM NY: Saturday Night Live Premiere Ratings PLUNGE as Show Focuses on Politics, Slams Trump
Ratings for the 45th season premiere of Saturday Night Live plunged over the weekend; dropping 30% in one key demographic as more viewers tune-out of the political-themed program.
“The premiere, hosted by Woody Harrelson and featuring Billie Eilish as musical guest, drew a 4.1 household rating in overnight metered markets and a 1.6 among adults 18-49. That’s down about 15 percent in households and 30 percent in adults 18-49 vs. last season’s opener (4.8 and 2.3),” writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Alec Baldwin opened the show with his infamous portrayal of President Trump.
“The season premiere leaned heavily on politics, with a cold open sketch featuring Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump calling around for advice on impeachment and an extended sketch of a Democratic presidential forum, with Harrelson playing Joe Biden, Larry David reprising his Bernie Sanders impression and former SNL regular Maya Rudolph as California Sen. Kamala Harris,” adds THR.

Part-time comedian and full-time Trump hater Alec Baldwin escalated his war-of-words with the White House this week; viciously calling Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders a “mouthpiece for fascism.”
“Alec Baldwin announced that he’s ‘so done’ playing @realDonaldTrump on ‘Saturday Night Live’. Good news for viewers who are ‘so done’ with ‘SNL’ & unfunny vicious Trump bashing instead of comedy. For refreshing variety, try my show instead tonight!” posted former Gov. Mike Huckabee on social media over the weekend.
“Who knows what the future holds? I tell what it should hold. That you, who have sucked a govt paycheck out of the economy while you were a dreadful Lt gov and then gov and that daughter of yours, a mouthpiece for fascism, that you go away. Just…go away,” fired-back Baldwin.

Baldwin is no stranger to controversy regarding President Trump; calling the Commander-in-Chief America’s “curse” for slavery, Native-American genocide, and the Vietnam War last year.
Baldwin posted the hate-filled tirade on his charity’s social media account, writing “Trump is a curse, brought down on us as punishment 4 our sins. The slaughter of Native Americans, slavery, Japanese internment, Vietnam. Every hateful, misogynistic, racist notion, intertwined w our better nature, Trump embodies those. He is us. Now we can face it + exorcise it.”
