Seattle’s Mayor doubled-down on her calls to “demilitarize the police force” Monday; saying the city needs to “rethink who responds to 911 calls” and other emergency situations.
“Seattle won’t lose sight of what we need: allowing our community to exercise their first amendment rights, demilitarizing our police force, rethinking who responds to 9-1-1 calls, and investing more to create meaningful change for our black and brown communities,” posted Mayor Jenny Durkan.

“Our President will do anything to avoid listening to the voices of millions of Americans asking for change. He instead distracts with lies and language purposefully intended to incite violence. He thrives on division when we desperately need to move forward as a nation,” she added.
LIBERAL UTOPIA: Seattle Council, Mayor Ask State to ‘Create $100M Virus Fund’ for Illegal Immigrants
The Seattle City Council passed a bill this week officially asking the state to allocate $100 million to help the region’s “undocumented workers” during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The Seattle City Council passed a resolution Monday asking Gov. Jay Inslee and Washington state lawmakers to help undocumented immigrants who have lost their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic,” reports the Seattle Times.
“The measure urges Inslee and the Legislature to create a ‘Washington Worker Relief Fund,’ with an initial allocation of at least $100 million, ‘to provide emergency economic assistance to undocumented Washingtonians.’ The vote was 9-0, and Mayor Jenny Durkan will add her signature,” adds the newspaper.
“The governor and his staff have had meetings with community leaders on this subject, as well as other pressing issues for immigrants,” said a spokesperson for the Governor.

NOT A JOKE: Seattle Mayor Says ‘Zone’ Safe-Space for ‘Spaghetti Potlucks, Movies’ Predicts ‘Summer of Love!’
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan stunned millions of users on social media this week; declaring her city’s ‘Autonomous Zone’ a safe space for “spaghetti potlucks, food trucks, and movies!”
“The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone #CHAZ is not a lawless wasteland of anarchist insurrection – it is a peaceful expression of our community’s collective grief and their desire to build a better world. Given his track record, it’s not hard to believe that Trump is wrong, yet again,” posted Durkin on social media.
“For the thousands of individuals who have been on Capitol Hill, I think you’ve seen what I’ve seen: The painting of Black Lives Matter along Pine Street, food trucks, spaghetti potlucks, teach-ins, and movies,” she added.
