Vermont Senator and 2020 Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders has reportedly hired an “illegal immigrant” and DACA-recipient as his new campaign spokesperson, reports Fox News.
“Bernie Sanders’ newest deputy national press secretary won’t be able to cast a vote for her boss in the 2020 presidential election,” writes Fox. “That’s because Belén Sisa, a millennial Arizona left-wing activist who joined the Democrat’s staff this week, claims to be an illegal immigrant.”
“This is really emotional for me. I can’t help but think of 18-year-old Belén, who felt hopeless and powerless to the anti-immigrant attacks and policies that were holding her back from her dreams,” Sisa posted on social media.
“I can’t help but think of the generations of sacrifice my family has had to do for me to get here. Never in our wildest dreams did we think I’d be making moves like these,” she added.

BERNIE’S BUST: Even Democrats Think Sanders’ Jobs Program Goes TOO FAR
Leading Democratic lawmakers publicly distanced themselves from Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders this week after the ultra-liberal legislator called for a universal employment program; promising a federal job for “anyone who wants one.”
While some prominent Democrats supported Bernie’s socialist platform -such as Senators Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand- many threw cold water on the idea, saying it would prove far too expensive and unmanageable.
“I’m anxious for Bernie to show me how it’s going to be done,” said Sen. Dick Durbin. “He’s had some good ideas, but sometimes when it gets down to the actual cost of the idea, they need to be worked on a little bit.”
“I don’t know how he has in mind to pay for it,” added Sen. Richard Blumenthal. “I really would like to see the details. I’ve seen some headlines, but I haven’t seen a summary even.”
The plan was widely lampooned by Republicans throughout the Senate Wednesday, including many who saw the jobs program as a possible party platform heading into 2018 and 2020.
“If you’re a red-state Democrat, you’ve got to defend why a mass federal expenditure on a basic government takeover of the employment sector is appropriate,” said Sen. Gardner, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
BERNIE’S BILL: Sen. Sanders Urges Federal Gov to Raise Wages for ’40 Million Americans’
Vermont Senator and likely 2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders continued to push his latest initiative to increase the federal minimum wage Wednesday; saying the move would “give a raise” to upwards of 40 million Americans.
“Our $15 minimum wage bill would give a raise to over 40 million Americans, including more than half of African American and Latinx workers. A job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it. It’s time every worker in America is paid a living wage,” posted Sanders on social media.
