REALITY CHECK: Report Finds Georgia Voter Registration, Turnout INCREASED Before 2018 Midterms

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.29.18

Despite Democratic claims of “voter suppression” and in illegitimate result in Georgia’s gubernatorial race in recent days, a new report finds both turnout and registration actually increased under GOP Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

“It was not a free and fair election,” Stacey Abrams said in a recent interview. “We had thousands of Georgians who were purged from the rolls wrongly. … It was not fair to the thousands … forced to wait in long lines because they were in polling places that were under-resourced, or worse, they had no polling places to go to because more than 300 had been closed.”

“It was not fair to the thousands that were put on hold with their registrations,” Abrams added. “Brian Kemp oversaw for eight years the systematic and systemic dismantling of our democracy, and that means there could not be free and fair elections in Georgia this year.”

“Not only has overall voter registration increased by 20 percent since Kemp took office as Georgia’s secretary of state, but final tabulations indicate turnout in 2018 dwarfed previous midterm elections,” finds the Washington Free Beacon.

ABRAMS CLAIM: Stacey Abrams Says She Was Nearly Blocked from Voting in Georgia Election

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.21.18

Democratic candidate in Georgia’s gubernatorial race Stacey Abrams claimed she was nearly blocked from voting this week; doubling-down on her previous comments that “voter suppression” led to an “unfair” midterm election.

Abrams was speaking with NPR when she stated an Election Day staffer attempted to stop her from casting her ballot; saying “The day I voted, I had to correct the poll worker who said I had filed for an absentee ballot.”

“I did it quietly. I didn’t turn it into a major conversation because, for me, it was about getting through the process,” she added. “But it was also emblematic to me of the privilege that I have.”

“I know the law … There are thousands, millions in Georgia who do not know what their rights are and therefore do not know that they shouldn’t have to wait in four-hour lines in the rain with their children. They shouldn’t have to worry about whether they will lose their jobs in order to exercise their democratic right to vote for their leader,” said Abrams

DEM DENIAL: Stacey Abrams ‘ASSEMBLES LEGAL TEAM’ to Fight Georgia’s Election Results

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.08.18

Democratic candidate for Governor of Georgia Stacey Abrams is escalating her legal fight against the GOP’s Brian Kemp; refusing to concede the race and “assembling a legal team” to contest the results.

“Democrat Stacey Abrams’s team announced she’s filing litigation in a Georgia county, at a Thursday news conference after Georgia Republican Brian Kemp claimed victory in the governor’s race Wednesday,” writes the Daily Caller.

Abrams’ argument centers around her claim that absentee ballots in specific districts were not delivered to voters in time for the 2018 midterm elections.

“Our point is the one that has been made twice now,” said her lawyer. “To put it very simply all the votes haven’t been counted. How can anybody claim a victory when there are enough votes that have not been counted that could cause a runoff here? … We believe everybody is entitled to have their vote counted.”

Kemp currently leads Abrams 50.3% to 48.7%.
