Paul Pelosi, who drunkenly crashed his Porsche into another driver last month, has finally been charged with a DUI, Fox News reports. A spox for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has made it very clear she won’t be commenting on the matter.
“The speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” the spokesperson said.
From Fox News…
A press release from the district attorney’s office states that Paul Pelosi had a blood alcohol content level of .082% after the crash, and said the blood sample was taken at 12:32 a.m., which was two hours after the collision occurred at 10:17 p.m.
The charges filed against Paul Pelosi are considered misdemeanor over felony charges, and the press release states that the decision for pressing misdemeanor charges were based “upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim.”
The punishment for misdemeanor DUI includes “up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines and fees, completion of a court ordered drinking driver class, and other terms as appropriate,” according to the district attorney.
