Anthony Fauci is heading back to Capitol Hill, and Sen. Rand Paul will be waiting with more than 1,000 pages of the former health official’s private pandemic notes.
Fauci is scheduled to testify Wednesday before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in what could be his most explosive clash yet with the Kentucky Republican.
Paul, the committee’s chairman, subpoenaed Fauci as part of his yearslong investigation into COVID-19’s origins, federal funding for virus research and Fauci’s previous statements to Congress.
The hearing begins at 8:30 a.m.
Paul raised the temperature ahead of the testimony by releasing 1,141 pages of Fauci’s pandemic-era diary entries.
“What Dr. Fauci wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories,” Paul wrote on X.
