During a recent exchange on Jim Acosta’s podcast, ex-CNN anchors Don Lemon and Jim Acosta attempted to make a case for their credibility and success.

…and it’s about as sad as it sounds.

“I think it’s another nail in the confidence people have in corporate media,” Lemon said while discussing the current state of the media. “I think that is why folks like you, over here on Substack, doing extremely well — I’m doing okay on Substack also on YouTube … I think that’s why we’re having such success.”

“They don’t care if you’re on the north lawn or the south lawn of the White House with pancake make-up on and all the lights and the shiny desks. They want people they like, they trust, and they care about,” Lemon said.

“People can trust that I’m going to tell them the truth. I think people like that.”

Fox News contributor Joe Concha shared the clip of the ex-CNN anchors, saying, “You’re going to hear from their cheerleaders in the media saying these guys are doing gangbusters as far as viewers and revenue. They’re not. And trust me – when it comes to guys like these, they crave relevance & attention more than anything else. And here they ain’t getting it.”
