Vice President Kamala Harris released her “sweeping strategy” to solve the country’s illegal immigration crisis taking place along the US-Mexico border Thursday; publishing an 18-page report that focuses on “several pillars” of the problem.
“In Central America, the root causes of migration run deep—and migration from the region has a direct impact on the United States,” Harris said in a statement.
“For that reason, our nation must consistently engage with the region to address the hardships that cause people to leave Central America and come to our border,” she added.
“For decades, our nation has engaged in Central America,” Harris continued. “Often well intentioned, the engagement has often not been consistent. And over the last few years, the United States significantly pulled back from work in the region.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic and extreme weather conditions have indeed exacerbated the root causes of migration—which include corruption, violence, trafficking, and poverty. While our Administration is proud that we have sent millions of vaccine doses and hurricane relief, we know that it is not enough to alleviate suffering in the long term.
“The root causes must be addressed both in addition to relief efforts—and apart from these efforts. In everything we do, we must target our efforts in those areas of highest out-migration—and ensure that these programs meet the highest standards of accountability and effectiveness,” she added.

From Fox News:
A rancher from New Mexico told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday that migrants have been getting “fairly close” to her house, even asking for food and water, amid the surge in illegal crossings at the U.S. southern border.
Amanda Adame noted that she gives them food and water because they “don’t want to get hurt.” She added that she typically calls Border Patrol when she sees migrants on her property.
Adame also pointed out a difference between the behavior of the migrants under the Biden administration and the Trump administration.
“When they [migrants] saw a border agent before, they stopped and they waited and now they keep trying to go,” Adame said, noting that Border Patrol agents “catch them when they see them,” but said the “big problem” is the migrants aren’t always found.
Biden has scrapped a number of Trump’s policies, which included having asylum seekers remain in Mexico instead of staying in the U.S. while they wait for their cases to be heard.
More than 15,000 unaccompanied migrant minors are in custody at federal facilities, according to recent reports. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported encounters with more than 100,000 migrants (minors and otherwise) in February alone.
When asked what her biggest concern is Adame said, “Now that the border policy has changed, what’s going to happen now?”
“What is he [President Biden] going to do with stopping asylum seekers?” she went on to ask. “I just feel sad for the people who are trying to come in legally and they can’t because of all these asylum seekers.”

ARMAGEDDON AGAIN? Kamala Harris Predicts ‘DESTRUCTION OF CONSTITUTION’ after Kennedy Retirement
Hyper-liberal Senator Kamala Harris painted a bleak picture for the country Wednesday night, saying, “We’re looking at the destruction of the Constitution” if Trump gets his next Supreme Court Justice confirmed.
Harris was speaking with MNSBC’s Chris Matthews when she unleashed her dire prediction just hours after Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his plan to retire from the Supreme Court this July.
“If Trump gets what he wants here, what’s the Court going to look like for the next 30 years?” asked Matthews.
“We’re looking at a destruction of the Constitution of the United States, as far as I can tell based on all the folks he’s been appointing thus far for lifetime appointments,” she fired back.
