Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stunned his congressional colleagues earlier Tuesday when he “unequivocally” praised President Trump’s decision to block a foreign takeover of US microchip producer Qualcomm; saying he “made the right decision.”
Schumer was addressing his fellow lawmakers on the Senate floor when he hailed the Commander-in-Chief’s move to block the merger; saying China commonly looks “for places where they can steal our best technology.”
“Let me say unequivocally, President Trump and his administration made the right decision on blocking Broadcom from taking over Qualcomm,” Schumer said Tuesday at the US Capitol.
“We all know that China has been rapacious about trade and very smart. They look for places where they can steal our best technology,” he added.
Earlier this week, the President ordered the tech company to halt all activities having to do with the merger, saying the move may pose a threat to US national security.
Qualcomm produces a wide variety of microchips commonly found in American computer servers, smart phones, cellular networks, Department of Defense contracts, and other highly-sensitive infrastructure.

DEMOCRAT DELUSION: Schumer Calls Big Bonuses 'CRUMBS' for Working Families
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer doubled-down on Democratic talking points regarding the recently passed GOP tax cuts on Friday; echoing House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s non-stop insistence that increased wages and big bonuses were simply “pathetic crumbs” given to American workers.
Schumer was speaking on the Senate floor when he predictably attacked the GOP-led tax overhaul, saying middle-class Americans were “getting crumbs” while large companies and corporations were getting “nice fat pieces of pie.”
“When the American people learn that some of them are not getting anything, some of them are getting raises, and the rest are getting crumbs; and big corporations and wealthy individuals are getting nice, fat pieces of pie… they’re going to be outraged,” said Schumer. “They are already.”
The Minority Leader’s comments come as the nation’s largest corporations announce their plans to reinvest in the United States and pay out big bonuses and higher wages to American-based workers.
This week, Home Depot joined AT&T, Visa, Walmart, American Airlines, Disney, and other companies pledging to expand benefits and raise earnings after President Trump signed the sweeping overhaul of the nation’s outdated tax code into law.

DNC DISASTER: Republicans GAIN in NEW POLLS After ‘Schumer Shutdown’
New polling shows Republicans heading into the pivotal 2018 midterm elections with the wind at their backs; erasing Democratic gains for the first time since last spring as President Trump’s approval ratings continue to rise.
According to Politico, President Trump’s job performance inched higher following a disastrous month for Democrats; with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer caving on DACA, the budget, and the government shutdown.
“Fully 39 percent of registered voters say they would support the GOP candidate for Congress in their district, while 38 percent would back the Democratic candidate. Nearly a quarter of voters, 23 percent, are undecided,” writes Politico.
The polls show GOP candidates wiping out Democratic gains in recent months, shrinking their ten point generic advantage to a one point deficit against their Republican opponents.
The new data also shows President Trump’s approval rating matching his disapproval rating at 47%.
“Not only have Republicans increased support on the generic congressional ballot, they are now trusted more to handle the most important issue when voters head to the polls: the economy,” Morning Consult’s co-founder told Politico.
