At least two people were stabbed to death on the streets of London within 30 minutes in separate incidents this weekend; sending the UK capital’s murder rate to 59 as foreign residents flee the city.
A young man and another woman were violently stabbed to death in Britain’s largest city Sunday evening; with paramedics struggling to revive both individuals but ultimately failing.
The spike in violence has foreign residents -and most shockingly native New Yorkers- weighing whether they plan to leave the British capital over the deadly stabbing spree.
“I don’t know what you’ve got going on here, man – it’s crazy,” a 28-year old student from New York City said. “You got people throwing acid in other people’s faces, kids riding around on moped’s stealing cell phones.”
“I think London is starting to feel a little like old-school New York City in the 1970s and early 80s, only without the graffitied subway cars and breakdancing,” said another Big Apple native.
