At least two people were stabbed to death on the streets of London within 30 minutes in separate incidents this weekend; sending the UK capital’s murder rate to 59 as foreign residents flee the city.
A young man and another woman were violently stabbed to death in Britain’s largest city Sunday evening; with paramedics struggling to revive both individuals but ultimately failing.
The spike in violence has foreign residents -and most shockingly native New Yorkers- weighing whether they plan to leave the British capital over the deadly stabbing spree.
“I don’t know what you’ve got going on here, man – it’s crazy,” a 28-year old student from New York City said. “You got people throwing acid in other people’s faces, kids riding around on moped’s stealing cell phones.”
“I think London is starting to feel a little like old-school New York City in the 1970s and early 80s, only without the graffitied subway cars and breakdancing,” said another Big Apple native.

LONDON FALLING: Six Teens STABBED in 90 MINUTES in UK Capital
The crime wave sweeping the capital of the United Kingdom continued Thursday night, with a shocking six teenagers stabbed throughout the city in just 90 minutes; raising serious questions about security and safety in Britain’s largest metropolis.
According to the Independent UK, a 13-year old boy was the youngest victim of a stabbing spree that took place in at least four different attacks.
“Six teenagers have been stabbed within 90 minutes in another night of violence on London’s streets,” writes the Telegraph. “A 13-year-old boy was among the victims of four separate knife attacks, which took place as protesters gathered elsewhere in the capital to demand action to prevent young people dying.”
Earlier this week, a local politician in the capital called the spat of violence the “worst I’ve ever seen.”
The stabbings come just days after two teenagers were killed in similar attacks in the country’s largest city.
The shocking tally means the murder rate in London has risen by 40% in just three years; the stark opposite to New York City’s crime statistics which have fallen by nearly 90% since Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s harsh crackdown in the 1990s.
LONDON FALLING: UK Capital MURDER RATE Now Higher Than NYC
The official murder rate in London is now higher than similar statistics in New York City for the first time in modern history, with a record-breaking 12 killings occurring in the UK capital in just over two weeks.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Britain’s largest city is in the midst of a stunning crime wave; where the official murder tally topped New York’s for the first time in recorded history.
“February marked the first month in history books that London had more murders than the American city with a total of 15 homicides. Out of the 15 killed, nine were aged 30 or younger,” writes the Daily Mail. “In March, there were 22 murders, which is likely to match if not beat out New York’s numbers.”
Unlike the United States, most murders throughout Britain are committed using knives and other weapons as the UK has far stricter regulations on rifles and shotguns and a de-facto ban on pistols and handguns.
The crime rate in many American cities -and most notably New York City- has plummeted since the 1980s and 1990s; with the Big Apple’s murder rate dropping a stunning 87% from the mid 1990s.
