DOWN GOES CHENEY: Liz Loses Big in Wyoming, Trump Says 'She Should Be Ashamed'

It’s over for Liz Cheney —she’s lost her Wyoming GOP primary.

Cheney, who currently serves as vice-chair of the House’s Jan. 6 committee investigating the Capitol protests, lost to Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman by a large margin. When Cheney realized she was losing by more than 30 percentage points —a total blowout —she decided to deliver her concession speech.

“Our work is far from over,” she said in her speech, evoking Abraham Lincoln. She did not mention Hageman.

Many prominent GOP voices shared their thoughts on Cheney’s defeat on Twitter.

“Few people in Washington have been as wrong and damaging on foreign policy as Liz Cheney,” Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., wrote in a tweet. “Congratulations to @HagemanforWY on her victory tonight. I look forward to working with an advocate for liberty as the next Congresswoman from Wyoming. Bye Liz.”

“Congratulations to @HagemanforWY on her MASSIVE primary victory to restore the PEOPLE of Wyoming’s voice,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) wrote in a tweet. “I was proud to join President Trump and Leader Kevin McCarthy in endorsing Harriet!”

“Breathtakingly arrogant speech by loser Liz Cheney,” Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) wrote in a tweet. “Orchestrating show trials contrary to safeguards guaranteed by the Bill of Rights is not Lincolnesque. On the contrary, Cheney’s actions mirror precisely the authoritarianism our founders fought valiantly against.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) kept her message short.

Former congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard said Cheney’s loss is good for all Americans.

Finally, former President Donald Trump, Cheney’s foremost opponent in press and politics, shared his thoughts on TRUTH Social, absolutely blasting Cheney and congratulating Hageman.

“Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming. This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs. Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!”
