Democratic Congressman David Cicilline of Rhode Island predicted a crowded field for his party’s 2020 nomination battle; saying there could be as many as 40 candidates running against President Trump in the coming months.

Cicilline was speaking with MSNBC when he was asked to comment on the Democratic Party’s potential candidates to square-off against Trump in 2020, saying “We’ll have 30 or 40, probably, great candidates running for president.”

“We’ll have 30 or 40, probably, great candidates running for president, because everyone recognizes how urgent this moment is in the history of our country,” Cicilline said. “We need a great nominee, and I have every confidence we’re going to have a terrific nominee and we’re going to beat the Republican nominee in 2020.”

2020 VISION? Kamala Harris Stumps in Iowa, Slams GOP ‘Vision’ for America

Outspoken Senator and potential 2020 challenger Kamala Harris hit the campaign trail in Iowa this week; slamming her Republican colleagues and sparking speculation surrounding her potential run for the White House.

Harris was speaking to hundreds of supporters inside a packed community college in Des Moines when she unloaded on President Trump and the GOP; saying “We need to have a better vision for this country.”

“This is the moment in time that is requiring us to fight for the best of who we are,” Harris said Monday. “And the stakes are high. I don’t have to tell you what’s happening here in Iowa, where they’re privatizing Medicare, where we know that just in a very short period of time, people’s premiums are going to go up at least threefold.”

“We are better than this,” she added.

Harris’ visit comes months after fellow Democratic Senator and presidential hopeful Cory Booker visited Iowa.

“She’s got ground to make up, but she’s not very far behind yet,” said a member of the Iowa Democratic National Committee.

2020 VISION? Michael Bloomberg to VISIT IOWA in December

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.27.18

Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is planning a highly-anticipated visit to Iowa in the coming days; sparking fresh speculation over whether he plans to officially announce a potential run for the White House.

According to the Des Moines Register, Bloomberg will visit the state on December 4th to speak at the screening of his new climate change film “Paris to Pittsburgh.”

“Bloomberg, who was elected mayor as both a Republican and an independent, announced in October that he had re-registered as a Democrat. The 76-year-old billionaire also funneled more than $100 million into U.S. House races to help boost Democrats during the 2018 midterms,” writes the Register.

Earlier this month, Bloomberg told the Associated Press he plans to make a firm decision on whether to run in 2020 “by early 2019.”

“I think January, February would be about as late as you can do it and as early as you can gather enough information,” he told the AP. “Thanksgiving, Christmas and then maybe a few weeks into January — that’s when you really gotta sit down, talk to your advisers and say, ‘Look, do I have a chance?’
