COMING FOR AOC: GOP Challenger RIPS Ocasio-Cortez, Says Seeking ‘Celebrity’ Over ‘Service’

GOP challenger Scherie Murray slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on social media Wednesday; slamming the far-left legislator after officially kicking off her campaign for New York’s 14th Congressional District.

“AOC seeks celebrity & publicity. She thinks public service is not about serving the public, but herself. If you think you deserve better, then you’re just like me,” posted Murray on social media. “AOC chooses self-promotion over service, conflict over constituents, resistance over assistance. We need to build bridges, not burn them down.”

“Honored & humbled by the overwhelming support & enthusiasm today! We’re in this together. While AOC focuses on her celebrity brand & a politics of division, let’s #unitethefight,” she added. “There’s a crisis in Queens and it’s called AOC. She isn’t worried about us – she’s worried about being famous. That’s why I’m running for Congress”

Murray is a prominent Republican businesswoman in New York City who moved to the US from Jamaica at the age of nine.

“Scherie Murray, a New York businesswoman who immigrated from Jamaica as a child and is active in state Republican politics, is launching a campaign Wednesday for the congressional seat held by Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” reports Fox News.

“There is a crisis in Queens, and it’s called AOC,” Murray told Fox News. “And instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous. Mainly rolling back progress and authoring the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”

“Your representative in Washington chooses self-promotion over service, conflict over constituents, resistance over assistance,” Murray said in the video. “Queens and the Bronx needs someone who will create jobs instead of turning them away.”

“You deserve someone who will fight for you, not fight for the limelight. Someone who will build bridges, not burn them down. Join me,” posted Murray on social media.
