A member of the Washington, D.C. city council helped finance the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day event; the prominent rally that featured Louis Farrakhan’s three-hour long rant against the “Satanic Jew.”
According to the Washington Post, council member Trayon White Sr. instructed his team to make a $500 donation to the event; raising new questions over the Democratic party’s relationship to the notorious anti-Semite.
“The Brothers from the Nation are of the few men that show up to help . . . us address crime and social ills in Southeast. They also run a feeding program in several public housing communities in ward 8,” White wrote in a text message. “I’m a Christian but I support a lot of people and all religions who support my community.”
“He said to me, ‘I want you to make a payment to the Nation of Islam for Saviours’ Day,’ ” Darryl Ross, the treasurer, told the Post. “So I went on the website to get the information I needed in order to make the payment.”
FARRAKHAN BLUES: Top DEMS UNDER FIRE Over History with Prominent ANTI-SEMITE
Ranking Democrats in the House of Representatives and liberal activists found themselves in hot-water this week; flat-out refusing to condemn Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan after his three-hour long rant against the “Satanic Jew.”
Members of the Republican Jewish Coalition called on seven members of the Congressional Black Caucus to resign Tuesday after the legislator’s connections to the prominent anti-Semite became more evident.
“There’s clearly a double standard,” said the group’s leader. “No, there’s a double double-standard. Not only do you get the progressive left wing and more centrist Democrats who aren’t shy about criticizing President Trump or branding the Republican Party as white nationalists or neo-Nazis, but when it comes to condemning Louis Farrakhan, they’re silent.”
The announcement comes as Rep. James Clyburn -the third highest ranking Democrat in the House- was under fire for “sharing a stage” with the Nation of Islam leader back in 2011.
Left-wing legislators aren’t alone. The Women’s March organization found itself in the spotlight after one of its co-chairs attended Farrakhan’s event, sitting silently as he screamed “the Jews are my enemy.”
“I proudly serve as a leader for one of the largest women’s advocacy organizations in the world. For that reason, my recent presence at the Nation of Islam’s Saviour’s Day convocation troubled some of the very people who I have fought for and worked alongside for most of my life,” wrote the co-chair after refusing to condemn Farrakhan’s remarks.
BUSTED: Leading Democrat Held SECRET HOTEL Meeting with FARRAKHAN in 2015
Leading Democrat Keith Ellison found himself in hot-water Tuesday after a fellow liberal lawmaker revealed a secret “hotel room” meeting with Louis Farrakhan back in 2015; blowing a giant hole in Ellison’s assertions that he severed contact with the prominent anti-Semite in 2006.
Democratic Rep. Andre Carson spilled the beans on Ellison’s real relationship with the Nation of Islam leader this week, saying he and the Deputy Chief of the DNC met with Farrakhan as recently as 2015 at a hotel in Washington, DC.
The left-wing lawmaker revealed the meeting during an interview with the Indianapolis Star, saying he won’t “rule out” future conversations with Farrakhan.
“Carson said that he agreed to meet with Farrakhan in 2015, in the minister’s hotel suite, because they have a shared interest and passion for improving the quality of life in urban neighborhoods. The Washington Post Fact Checker on Friday tagged a third participant in that meeting, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee,” writes the Indy Star.
Farrakhan and his relationship with leading Democrats made national headlines last week after the co-chair of the Women’s March organization attended his hate-filled Saviour’s Day Event; watching silently as the Nation of Islam leader railed against the “Satanic Jew” for nearly 3 hours.
