BERNIE: ‘Reproductive Rights’ in Third World Countries Needed to Combat ‘Climate Catastrophe’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.05.19

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders doubled-down on his fiery rhetoric regarding a potential “climate catastrophe” during CNN’s town hall event Wednesday; saying “reproductive rights” of women around the planet is a key component in combating global warming.

“Empowering women to curb population growth seems reasonable to enact. Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?” asked an audience member.

“The answer is yes. Women have a right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions… In poor countries around the world, where women do not want to have large numbers of babies, where they can have the opportunity to use birth control to control the number of kids they have, is something I very strongly support,” said Sanders.

Sanders comments come hours after he abruptly snapped at a crying baby in New Hampshire; demanding the child “keep it down” while discussing universal health care.

The self-described Democratic Socialist’s reaction left many in attendance surprised, with some shocked at his insensitive behavior.

The video emerged on social media hours after Sanders labeled President Trump the “worst president in the history” of the United States on ‘The View.’

“I love Nancy but she and I disagree on this issue,” Sanders said. “I think the way you beat Donald Trump — and I must say that in my view, Donald Trump is the most dangerous president probably in the history of this country.”

“I work[ed] with your dad, I work with other people on issues where we can come together,” he told co-host Meghan McCain. “That’s what I think American politics is supposed to be about. But you have a president today – and again, it gives me no joy to say this – he is a pathological liar.”

ANOTHER EXCUSE: AOC Blames Twitter for Her OWN TWEET on Alabama Abortion Law

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.16.19

Embattled Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez bizarrely blamed Twitter’s character limitations for her controversial tweet regarding Alabama’s new anti-abortion law; saying the regulations were behind her post that “spread misinformation.”

“The New York Democrat used the social media platform to criticize the law, which was signed by the governor on Wednesday and outlaws nearly all abortions in the state. The same law also makes performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 99 years or life in prison unless the mother’s health is at risk, with no exceptions for women impregnated by rape or incest,” reports Fox News.

“Alabama lawmakers are making all abortions a felony punishable w jail time, including women victimized by rape+incest,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet. “Of course, no added punishments for rapists. It’s going to [Governor Kay Ivey’s] desk. She will decide the future of women’s rights in Alabama.”

The tweet immediately came under fire from users on social media; pointing out the law specifically states that women who undergo the procedure will not be subject to criminal or civil liability.

“Section 5. No woman upon whom an abortion is performed or attempted to be performed shall be criminally or civilly liable. Furthermore, no physician confirming the serious health risk to the child’s mother shall be criminally or civilly liable for those actions,” states the Alabama bill.

“It’s a felony punishable by jail, [including] cases of women pregnant by rape or incest. Twitter is 280 [characters] – read the context clues in grammar of the tweet,” she tweeted.

“But good to know you’re here to promote criminalizing medical providers aiding victims of rape and incest! good job.”

BREAKING: Federal Judge Blocks Missouri’s New Abortion Law Banning Procedure After 8 Weeks

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.27.19

A federal judge blocked key elements of a Missouri law banning abortions after eight weeks of pregnancy Tuesday afternoon; likely sending the legislation to higher courts and potentially the Supreme Court of the United States.

“A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked a Missouri ban on abortions at or after eight weeks of pregnancy just hours before the law was slated to take effect,” reports Fox News. “The law was expected to be implemented on Wednesday, but U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs put a pause on the ban, citing pending court proceedings.”

“Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri claimed the ban was unconstitutional and filed a lawsuit in federal court. The groups argued that the ban goes against the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortions across the nation. Federal law currently allows states to ban abortions after fetuses can survive outside the womb, which can be from 24 to 28 weeks,” adds Fox.

Missouri is not alone in their effort to limit abortions; with Mississippi, Ohio, Arkansas, and Kentucky passing similar legislation.

At the same time, states like New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Vermont have enacted laws to expand abortion rights.
