Democratic presidential hopeful and self-help author Marianne Williamson confused millions of users on social media Wednesday, posting -then deleting- a tweet that suggested Hurricane Dorian could be stopped with the “power of the mind.”
“The Bahamas, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas…may all be in our prayers now. Millions of us seeing Dorian turn away from land is not a wacky idea; it is a creative use of the power of the mind,” she posted on social media in a now-deleted tweet.
“Because the comment led to confusion it was replaced,” a spokesperson for Williamson’s campaign told The Hill.
The candidate has made similar comments in the past; saying President Trump has awakened “dark forces” in the United States.
“This is part of the dark underbelly of American society, the racism, the bigotry, and the entire conversation that we’re having here tonight. If you think any of this wonkiness is going to deal with this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this president is bringing up in this country, then I’m afraid that the Democrats are going to see some very dark days,” said Williamson during a Democratic debate earlier this year.

'WE CAN ATONE': Marianne Williamson Vows to Remove Jackson Portrait from Oval Office as ‘Atonement’ for Past
Author and Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson vowed to remove the portrait of Andrew Jackson from the Oval Office should she win the White House Monday; saying the move would help “atone” for the United States’ treatment of Native Americans.
“We can atone. We can make amends,” Williamson said. “And if and when I’m president of the United States, we will. We will begin by taking that picture of Andrew Jackson off the wall of the Oval Office.”
Under Jackson’s leadership the United States enacted the Indian Removal Act; resulting in widespread violence between varying Native American tribes and US troops.
“The presidential hopeful stated that children must forever be educated about how the U.S. treated Native Americans and suggested a year-long reconciliation program between the two peoples,” reports Fox News.
“It is time for us to do some very important, deep, and powerful repair work,” she concluded.
Williamson left millions of television viewers scratching their heads during last month’s Democrat debate; bizarrely suggesting President Trump has awakened a “dark psychic force” during the Democratic debate.
“This is part of the dark underbelly of American society, the racism, the bigotry, and the entire conversation that we’re having here tonight. If you think any of this wonkiness is going to deal with this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this president is bringing up in this country, then I’m afraid that the Democrats are going to see some very dark days,” said Williamson.
