'STOP STOKING JEW HATRED': AOC Roasted Over US-IDF Military Merger Claim

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.23.26

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sounded the sovereignty alarm. Republicans answered with a reading assignment.

The New York Democrat claimed the House defense bill would “merge parts of our military with the IDF,” using the most explosive possible description of a provision designed to deepen defense cooperation between the United States and Israel.

“This amendment is an existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X. “Every member of Congress must vote NO.”

The warning came before the House passed its version of the fiscal 2027 National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday by a 219-206 vote, leaving the disputed Section 219 intact.

The provision calls for greater U.S.-Israel integration involving military technology, supply chains, research, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and joint exercises. Its Republican defenders say it expands the sort of cooperation Washington already maintains with close allies. They reject Ocasio-Cortez’s characterization that parts of the two militaries would be merged.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin responded with a one-word verdict: “FALSE.”

Then he unloaded.

“Instead of merging the part of your brain that hates Jews with the part of your brain concocting your daily lies, you should try merging the part of your brain responsible for reading bill text with the part of your brain responsible for critical thinking,” Zeldin wrote on X.

Rep. Mike Lawler, a fellow New York lawmaker, accused Ocasio-Cortez of either misunderstanding the legislation or deliberately misrepresenting it.

“Good grief, you are either obtuse or intentionally lying. We are not merging our military with the IDF,” Lawler wrote, while telling her to “stop stoking Jew hatred.”
