Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez directly addressed rumors she may consider a potential run for the White House in 2028 on social media Tuesday; saying “I’m not a person that aspires to a position, I aspire to a mission.”
“I’ve struggled on like, whether I should address this issue directly or not. People keep saying, like, oh, like the future, like 2028, like blah blah blah… What’s really important is that we have a lot of work that we need to do right now,” said AOC.
“I’m not a person that aspires to a position, I aspire to a mission… We can’t swing from one savior to another… There’s a lot of saviorism in politics, like, who’s next? Like, who’s going to save us? The answer is people,” she added.

AOC CONFUSED: Ocasio-Cortez Calls Electoral College a Racist ‘Scam,’ Looks for Voters in the Desert
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez confused millions of users on social media Tuesday; calling the Electoral College a “racist scam” while searching for American voters in the desert.
— Public Citizen (@Public_Citizen) August 20, 2019
“Alright everyone, it’s been a minute, we’re coming to you live from the Electoral College… Many votes here as you can see. A very efficient way to choose leadership of the country. I can’t think of any other way, can you?” quipped Ocasio-Cortez on social media.
— The Hill (@thehill) August 20, 2019
“Due to severe racial disparities in certain states, the Electoral College effectively weighs white voters over voters of color, as apposed to a ‘one person, one vote’ system where all our votes are counted equally,” she states.
“Could you image if we had this kind democracy-altering ‘fairness’ provision for literally any other group?” she asks. “If we weighed, for example, black and indigenous voters more because of unfairness?”

“You might have heard Fox News talking about it,” Ocasio-Cortez said, “because there is a myth that all VAs everywhere are broken.”

“If we can starve them of budgets and make sure they can’t do their job, then we can say the whole system should be thrown away,” she said while speaking with supporters in New York City. “I’m not going to back down from protecting the VA.”
