AMERICAN HEROES: President Trump Signs Executive Order Forgiving Student Debt for Disabled Veterans

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.22.19

President Trump signed an Executive Order Thursday cancelling student debt for permanently disabled veterans; effectively forgiving loans for more than 25,000 Americans.

“The order, which Trump signed following a speech at the American Veterans National Convention in Louisville, Ky., also clears those eligible veterans from having to pay any federal income tax on the loans. Trump added that he is pressuring individual states to follow suit,” reports Fox News.

“The debt of these disabled veterans will be completely erased,” Trump said. “That’s hundreds of millions of dollars of student loans debt for our disabled veterans that will be completely erased.”

“It was my honor to sign a Presidential Memorandum facilitating the cancellation of student loan debt for 25K of our most severely disabled Veterans. With today’s order, we express the everlasting love & loyalty of a truly grateful Nation. God bless our Vets, & God Bless America!” Trump tweeted.

“Trump’s announcement comes days after the administration hired a longtime student loan industry executive to be the federal government’s top watchdog for the student loan market. Robert Cameron will serve as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s new student loan ombudsman, the bureau said Friday,” adds Fox.

A NEW LOW: Veteran Forced to Sell House After Being Fined $100 Per Day for US FLAG

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.10.18

An Air Force Veteran living in Florida sold his house after the local homeowners association fined him $100 per day for displaying a 17” American flag in a flower pot on his lawn, reports the Washington Post.

According to the Post, the HOA deemed the flag an “unauthorized object” on his front porch and had to be removed.

“After filing a lawsuit in federal court, Murphree came to an agreement with the HOA that he could continue to fly the flag, only to discover a few months later that the HOA had made a new ordinance to remove his flower pot. He also discovered they were using money from his HOA dues to pay off his ‘unauthorized object’ fees, causing him to fall far behind in the dues. With foreclosure imminent, Murphree decided to sell his house three years ago,” writes the Washington Examiner.

“It just dawned on me there’s people that strap on a gun every day to protect me and the people I love. It’s a small flag, but it stands for a big thank you,” said Larry Murphree.

“He’s probably lost . . . hundreds of thousands of dollars of his retirement money, not to mention the time he’ll never get back from having to fight this battle,” said his attorney.

AMERICAN HERO: Disabled Veteran REFUSES AWARD from 'Tainted' NFL Team

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.04.17

“Although I am touched and honored to be selected for such an award, the ongoing controversy with NFL players’ disrespect for the national flag forces me to decline to participate in the presentation,” Wells said.

“I am unable, in good conscience, to enter an NFL stadium while this discourtesy prevails. Since this award is tainted with the dishonorable actions of the NFL and its players, I cannot accept it,” he added.

The NFL has been struggling to regain its footing following weeks of players choosing to “take a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem.

The ensuing controversy gained national attention when President Trump called for a total boycott of the NFL until officials and owners require players to stand during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’
