Shocking surveillance video out of San Jose shows a gang of masked thieves storming a family-run jewelry store, assaulting its 88-year-old owner, and leaving him with a stroke.
The brazen smash-and-grab unfolded around 2:30 p.m. Friday, when an SUV plowed through the front of Kim Hung Jewelry. At least half a dozen suspects in black rushed in, barking at customers to “get the f–k down” as they swung axes and hammers at display cases, scooping up gold and jewels.
Heart-stopping footage shows the elderly owner trying to fend them off before being shoved to the ground. He was cut by shattered glass and later suffered a stroke, according to a family friend. Miraculously, he was stabilized and released from the hospital by Sunday.
The chaos lasted only moments before a car outside blared its horn, spooking the robbers into fleeing in multiple getaway vehicles. One suspect was reportedly armed with a gun.
Police estimate damages at up to $100,000. No arrests have been made, and the violent crew remains at large.
