While speaking at a campaign event Sunday night, former President and 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump made a promise to shut down the border immediately should he win the presidency.
Trump made the remarks while speaking to supporters in Rochester, New Hampshire.
“As soon as I lift my hand from the Bible as your 47th president, I will seal the border, shut down the invasion of millions and millions of people coming into our country, and we will start an energy revolution.”

Meanwhile, President Biden told reporters on Friday that he’s finally ready to act on the border and conceded “massive changes” need to be made to immigration policy.
“I believe we need significant policy changes at the border, including changes in our asylum system to ensure that we have the authorities we need to control the border. I’m ready to act,” the president said.
