NO RESULTS, NO RECESS: Trump Tells Thune to Keep Senate in Town Until SAVE Act Passes

Trump has a message for Thune: cancel the getaway and get the job done.

President Trump urged Senate Minority Leader John Thune to keep senators in Washington until Republicans pass the SAVE America Act, warning that the GOP is squandering its power while Democrats wait for another chance to eliminate the filibuster themselves.

“John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to ‘leave town’ until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post shared by Trump War Room.

Ending the filibuster would allow Senate Republicans to bypass the 60-vote threshold typically needed to end debate on major legislation. Trump argued that such a move would let the party move quickly on election legislation, federal spending and the debt ceiling.

Republicans, he said, could “quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929!”

The president also accused Democrats of benefiting from overly cautious Republican leadership and predicted they would scrap the filibuster immediately if they regained control.

“The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can’t believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership,” Trump wrote. “Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH!”

Florida Senator Rick Scott shared Trump’s TRUTH post with a simple message.

Minutes later, Trump sharpened the warning in a second statement shared by RedWave Press, framing the filibuster fight as a race for political survival.

“Whichever Party Terminates the Filibuster FIRST will be the Party that survives and thrives,” Trump wrote. “If the Dumocrats win this race, however, America will rapidly become nothing more than a Third World Nation!”

The pair of posts amounted to a blunt ultimatum for Senate Republicans. Trump does not want procedural tradition or the lure of recess standing between the party and its legislative agenda.

His immediate demand centers on the SAVE America Act, but his argument reaches further. Trump wants Republicans to use their power while they have it, not preserve a Senate custom he believes Democrats will discard the moment it becomes inconvenient.
