Failing presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand is facing new criticism from an unlikely source this week: Her own campaign staffers, with insiders saying it’s time for the New York Senator to quit her run for the White House.
“It’s time for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s sputtering presidential campaign to call it quits, a friend of hers and two former aides told The [New York] Post,” writes the report.
“It would be best if she decided that this was not her time,” said one longtime supporter.
Senator Gillibrand has struggled to gain any traction on the national stage, with many in the news media announcing her candidacy dead on arrival. She likely won’t make it to the third debate, as she’s failed to secure 130,000 individual donors.
As a last ditch effort, Gillibrand and her team are selling shirts for $1 a piece in hopes that she will cross the unique donor threshold. She’s currently lagging behind lower-tier candidates Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Marianne Williamson, both of whom have secured the minimum requirement.
“Most people that I talk to are very happy with her as their senator and don’t want her to give up her Senate seat and don’t see any realistic traction for her,” said another insider.
Gillibrand has until August 28th to gather the support.

Failing Democratic presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand unveiled her own version of the ‘Green New Deal’ Thursday; pledging $10 trillion to fight climate change over the next ten years if elected in 2020.
“Polar ice and glaciers are melting at a rapid pace. Heavy rains are causing catastrophic flooding in the Midwest, leaving farms submerged and homes and businesses destroyed. Changes in our oceans are disrupting fisheries and killing coral reefs. Droughts and wildfires are threatening communities across the West, and extreme weather is leaving millions of people without homes and causing billions of dollars in damage every year,” writes Gillibrand.
“The scientific community is telling us that we only have a short amount of time to act if we’re going to prevent the most catastrophic and irreversible damage in the future. But President Trump refuses to even acknowledge that human-caused climate change is happening,” she adds.
“Climate action should be this generation’s moonshot. To save our planet, the energy, talents, and commitment of every American will be required, from our farmers and workers to our scientists and entrepreneurs. The next president has to be willing to take bold leaps to lead this effort and stand up to the climate change deniers, polluters, and oil and gas special interests. I will, because we can’t afford not to,” concludes Gillibrand.
The man plan “mobilize” $10 trillion in funds to achieve “net-zero” carbon emissions; forcing climate “polluters” to pay stiff fines and penalties.

GILLIBRAND GOES OFF: NY Senator Slams Trump for ‘NOT ACKNOWLEDGING’ Her Hard Work
Ultra-liberal New York Senator and potential 2020 challenger Kirsten Gillibrand unloaded on President Trump this week; slamming the Commander-in-Chief after he questioned her ability to “get things done” in Congress during a fiery speech.
The President called out Gillibrand during a televised address in Utica, New York Monday; asking the crowd “Has she gotten anything done?”
Gillibrand fired-back on social media just hours later, saying “The President refuses to acknowledge the work I’ve gotten done. Sound familiar, ladies?”

GILLIBRAND: Access to ‘Social Security’ is a ‘Right’ for Every Illegal Immigrant in the US
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand left millions of Americans scratching their heads during a campaign stop this week; calling social security a “right” for all illegal immigrants “in this country now.”
Gillibrand was speaking with supporters on the campaign trail when she pushed her calls for a “comprehensive immigration reform” package that includes access to social security and a pathway to citizenship.
“What will I do? I have a lot of ideas. First, we need comprehensive immigration reform. If you are in this country now, you must have the right to pay into social security, to pay your taxes, to pay into the local school system, and to have a pathway to citizenship. That must happen,” said Gillibrand to widespread applause.
