WHAT NOW? Ocasio-Cortez Unhappy Colleagues Calling Her ‘AOC’… After Calling Justice Ginsburg ‘RBG’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.26.20

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained Friday after President Trump referred to her by the nickname ‘AOC,’ saying people “notice it” when Republicans “advertise their disrespect of women.”

“I wonder if Republicans understand how much they advertise their disrespect of women in debates when they consistently call women members of Congress by nicknames or first names while using titles & last names when referring to men of = stature. Women notice. It conveys a lot,” posted Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter.

“AOC is a name given to me by community & the people. Y’all can call me AOC. Government colleagues referring to each other in a public or professional context (aka who don’t know me like that) should refer to their peers as ‘Congresswoman,’ ‘Representative,’ etc. Basic respect 101,” she added.

The far-left Representative clearly felt differently just weeks ago, when she said this about the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“As I said at the opening, the very last dying wish of RBG was that her vacancy not be filled until the new president takes office in January. That was her dying wish… If Mitch McConnell is not going to honor RBG’s final wish, we will.”

AMBASSADOR AOC? Ocasio-Cortez ‘Apologizes’ to Immigrants on ‘Behalf of the United States of America’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.12.19

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appointed herself Ambassador of the United States Wednesday; apologizing to immigrants on “behalf of the United States of America” for the country’s “dehumanizing policies.”

“I’d like to apologize to you on behalf of the United States of America for the dehumanizing policies that they are pursuing, that are frankly targeting you, and targeting many people in the United States,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

“We’re fighting for a better country that we can be proud of when it comes to how we treat all people and understand the circumstances that they’re coming from,” she added.

Ocasio-Cortez made similar comments during ex-ICE boss Tom Homan’s testimony, when the immigration official slammed her “hatred” towards law enforcement.

“In my 34 years, I’ve never seen such hate toward a law enforcement agency in my life that you want to abolish them rather than do your job and legislate,” said Homan.

“Your time is expired,” fired-back AOC, slamming her gavel.

The United States Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration Wednesday; allowing the White House to impose new restrictions on asylum applicants as more legal cases are decided in the lower courts.

“The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the Trump administration to bar most Central American migrants from seeking asylum in the United States, while the legal fight plays out in the courts,” reports the New York Times.

The Supreme Court, in a brief, unsigned order, said the administration may enforce new rules that generally forbid asylum applications from migrants who have traveled through another country on their way to the United States without being denied asylum in that country.

The vote was 7-2, with liberal Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissenting the decision, writing “Once again, the Executive Branch has issued a rule that seeks to upend longstanding practices regarding refugees who seek shelter from persecution.”

The case will likely return to the Supreme Court for a final decision later this year.

‘A FEW DAYS' OFF: Ocasio-Cortez Says She’s Taking a ‘Self-Care’ Break Before Her Term Begins

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.18.18

Incoming Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced this week she plans on taking a “self-care” break before starting her term in early January; saying she’s “taking a few days to take care of myself.”

“I’m taking a few days to take care of myself before what is sure to be an eventful term. For working people, immigrants, & the poor, self-care is political – not because we want it to be, but bc of the inevitable shaming of someone doing a face mask while financially stressed,” she posted on social media.

“Before the campaign, I used to practice yoga 3-4x/week, eat nutritiously, read and write for leisure,” Ocasio-Cortez added on Instagram. “As soon as everything kicked up, that all went out the window. I went from doing yoga and making wild rice and salmon dinners to eating fast food for dinner and falling asleep in my jeans and makeup.”
