President Biden finally took the stage at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony this week a full two-minutes after being introduced, with host LL Cool J telling the audience to applaud again when the Commander-in-Chief eventually appeared.
“Now, it is my tremendous honor to welcome our literal host, the actual host for this very American celebration, President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden,” said the musician.
“Alright good vibes,” said LL Cool J a few minutes later. “So, we’re going to do it again. Not the whole thing… You’re respecting the office. Sit down again, one more time, it’ll be fine.”
“And now, it’s my tremendous honor to introduce President Biden,” said the host again.
“And as we look out across the country with the promise of a new year ahead, we know this: We are a great nation because [of] you — the American people,” the president finally said. “You are a good people. And because of you, we will never be more optimistic about the future. You’ve made me so optimistic I can’t — I tell you what … we have so much ahead of us.”

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders suspended his presidential campaign Wednesday; clearing the path for the Democratic nomination of former Vice President Joe Biden to take on Donald Trump this November.
“Sanders was unable to build on his early momentum in the race after wins in New Hampshire and Nevada as well as virtual tie in Iowa, going on to lose a string of states to Biden after the former vice president consolidated the support of moderate Democrats,” reports the Hill.
