A recent article from the Editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal asked a scathing question to liberal politicians and Democrats all over the United States: Why Do You Hate West Virginia?
“West Virginia has lost population for eight consecutive years. Gov. Jim Justice is pushing to phase out his state’s income tax to make it more economically competitive, but Democrats are sabotaging him with their $1.9 trillion spending bill,” writes the Editorial Board. “Mr. Justice’s plan would immediately slash income tax rates by 60% across all brackets. West Virginia’s top 6.5% income tax rate, which is the same for singles and couples, kicks in at $60,000 and would fall to 2.6%. Middle-class households in West Virginia currently pay more in income tax than their counterparts in neighboring states and even more than some affluent residents of Connecticut.”
“The problem is that Democrats in Congress have prohibited states from using their new federal funds to directly or indirectly offset tax cuts. West Virginia is slated to get about $1.3 billion in direct budget relief and even more for schools and cities. Yet Mr. Justice can’t use any of the booty to finance his tax cuts,” adds the WSJ.
“In short, Democrats are limiting Mr. Justice’s ability to make his state a more attractive place to work and invest. One of the Democrats who voted for the tax-cut ban is West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who put loyalty to national Democrats above his state. West Virginians can be forgiven for wondering what they did to deserve such hostile treatment,” concludes the Board.

MANCHIN TURNS: West Virginia Democrat SLAMS ‘Junkyard Dog’ Pence after Election
West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin unloaded on the Trump administration following his midterm victory Tuesday; labeling Vice President Pence a ‘Junkyard Dog’ after campaigning for his Republican opponent.
“I know Mike Pence, and he’s just, I guess, doing his job,” Manchin said. “He’s a junkyard dog right now, I guess. He has to go out and do it.”
“Let me say that I never expected that this race would be the national race it turned out to be,” Manchin said in his late-night speech. “I never expected President Trump to come to this state as much as he did, sending Vice President Pence, sending his family, time after time. And you stood tall.
Manchin made national headlines just weeks ago when he voted to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court; breaking with his fellow Democratic legislators.

NEGATIVE NANCY: Pelosi TRASHES Coal Power, Mocks West Virginia Ahead of Midterms
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi unloaded on the President’s recent decision to rescind Obama-era regulations on coal-fired power plants this week, citing her religious values and saying “with all due respect to West Virginia” we won’t be having new coal plants.
Pelosi was speaking at the Public Policy Institute in California when she was asked to weigh-in on the White House’s new guidelines surrounding energy production; saying we have to protect “God’s creation.”
“It really is a moral issue if you believe as I do that this is God’s creation we have to be good stewards of it,” Pelosi said. “We have envangelicals and others with us, er, some, those who believe in God’s creation. So, in any case this was a big thing for us. I had to fight some Democrats. Senator Byrd had a coal powered plan fueling the Capitol… that’s gonna go, with all due respect to West Virginia we’re not gonna have a coal power plant floating around.”
