The equation is simple: Attack a ship, lose a bridge or power plant.
President Trump announced a sweeping new retaliation policy Wednesday, pledging to destroy a piece of critical Iranian infrastructure every time the regime attacks a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
The warning dramatically raises the stakes in the battle over one of the world’s most important shipping lanes and puts infrastructure in Tehran directly within Washington’s sights.
“From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran,” Trump declared on TRUTH Social.
🚨 HOLY CRAP. President Trump just announced the US military will destroy "ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT" — including in Tehran — for each time Iran attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz

The proclamation transforms future Iranian attacks on commercial shipping into an automatic trigger for retaliation.
Trump did not specify which bridges or power plants the United States might target, nor did he indicate how quickly American forces would respond after an attack.
But his warning made clear that Tehran is no longer protected from the infrastructure campaign.

The president has largely avoided deliberately attacking Iranian civilian infrastructure during Operation Epic Fury, concentrating US military action on command centers, air defenses, missile facilities, drone sites and other military capabilities.
That restraint now comes with an expiration clause.
