'VERY CORRUPT COUNTRY': Trump, GOP Unload on Twitter After Musk Exposes Hunter Biden Censorship

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.05.22

Late last week, Twitter CEO Elon Musk delivered on his promise, sharing everything he found about how the social media platform buried the Hunter Biden laptop story (and more) back in October 2020 —and the GOP is not happy.

According to The New York Post, “House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy, Sens. Rand Paul and Josh Hawley, and the House Republicans’ official Twitter account all called out the company after Elon Musk shared the so-called ‘Twitter Files’ — detailing the platform’s faulty rationale to block the Post’s Oct. 14, 2020 expose.”

“We’re learning in real-time how Twitter colluded to silence the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop just days before the 2020 presidential election,” tweeted McCarthy.

“This is what collusion looks like,” read a tweet from the House Republicans’ Twitter account. Their tweet was in reference to revelations that “the Biden team” asked the company on Oct. 24, 2020 to delete a series of tweets after the Post published the Hunter Biden story. It was unclear what the since-deleted tweets said.

Sen. Josh Hawley tweeted Friday: “Here we have it – Dem lawmakers pressing @Twitter for MORE censorship to advance their political agenda, First Amendment be damned. They’re still at it. This is why Dems love monopoly power.”

“We know it was and we knew all along. And so did they, which is why they broke laws to hide it all. But now the laptop is in our possession. They are criminals. Trump was right all along and will be vindicated,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said.

Former President Donald Trump torched Twitter on TRUTH Social, railing against the platform for “fraud.”

“The same level of Fraud took place with the other Big Tech companies, if not even worse (if that’s possible?). We are living in a VERY CORRUPT COUNTRY.”
