President Trump confirmed Wednesday night he plans to delay his annual State of the Union address until after the federal government re-opens in the coming weeks; saying he’ll speak to the American people when the “shutdown is over.”
“As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative – I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber. I look forward to giving a ‘great’ State of the Union Address in the near future!” tweeted the Commander-in-Chief.

HANNITY: Pelosi’s ‘Intercontinental Trip’ Shows She’s Not Serious About Gov Shutdown
Speaking during his opening monologue on ‘Hannity’ Thursday night, Sean slammed Speaker Pelosi’s “postponed” international trip in the midst of a partial government shutdown; saying the liberal leader was playing petty political games.
“In the middle of a partial government shutdown, Speaker Nancy Pelosi was all set to leave on a military plane, on your dime, and embark on a seven-day excursion with other Democratic members of Congress,” said Hannity.
“That’s until President Trump pulled the plug… Keep in mind this letter comes 24-hours after Speaker Pelosi called for the State of the Union to be canceled. She was perfectly happy to take a government-funded intercontinental trip instead of staying in Washington, DC and doing her job,” he added.

IT’S ON: President Trump Vows to Deliver State of the Union in Pelosi’s House of Representatives
President Trump vowed Wednesday to deliver his annual State of the Union address inside the House of Representatives; saying he will make his speech “on time, on schedule, and very importantly, on location.”
“I will be honoring your invitation, and fulfilling my Constitutional duty, to deliver important information to the people and Congress of the United States of America regarding the State of our Union,” wrote Trump in a letter to Speaker Pelosi.
“I look forward to seeing you on the evening on January 29th in the Chamber of the House of Representatives. It would be so very sad for our country if the State of the Union were not delivered on time, on schedule, and very importantly, on location!” he added.
Last week, Pelosi urged the President to delay his annual address until both parties resolve the five-week long government shutdown.
