UNHAPPY MEAL: Florida McDonald’s Worker Fired After Refusing to Serve ‘Anyone with a Badge’

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.02.19

A worker at a McDonald’s restaurant in Florida was fired this week after refusing to serve “anyone with a badge,” tossing two paramedics from the store during the evening rush hour.

“Sunstar paramedic Anthony Quinn accused the employee at the McDonald’s in Madeira Beach of refusing to provide service to him and his partner, according to a review he left,” reports ABC Tampa Bay.

“Quinn’s review stated that he went into the restaurant in his uniform to use the restroom when the employee told him ‘we don’t accept officers in here.’ After telling her that he wasn’t an officer she proceeded to say that they didn’t accept ‘anyone with a badge,’” adds the article.

“We don’t serve your kind here,” said the employee.

The fast-service restaurant released a statement regarding the incident.

“We are aware of the unfortunate incident that took place at one of our restaurants last night. We, like you, were upset and disappointed and took immediate action. The employee has been terminated. What occurred does not reflect the values of our brand, our franchise, or the love and admiration we have demonstrated consistently for our friends in law enforcement and first responders. We have reached out to offer our sincerest apology.”

BERNIE'S UNHAPPY MEAL! Sanders TARGETS McDONALD’S, Says Company Must Pay Workers $15 an Hour

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.23.19

After setting his sights on Walmart, Amazon, and Google, Vermont Senator and 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders is now targeting McDonalds; saying the global burger chain must pay its workers at least $15 an hour across the USA.

“If Amazon can raise its minimum wage to $15 an hour, there is no reason that McDonald’s—a company that took in $1.4 billion in profit and paid its CEO $22 million—can’t also pay its workers a living wage,” posted Sanders on social media.

“In my view, if McDonald’s has enough money to buy back $22 billion of its own stock, it damn well has enough money to pay all of its workers at least $15 an hour,” he added.

A handful of Democratic candidates echoed Sanders’ demands Thursday; supporting a nationwide strike by McDonald’s workers.

“Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio(D) joined striking employees around the country, while Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who had to remain in Washington, D.C., to vote for a disaster relief bill, addressed the striking workers via a live town hall and pledged to sign legislation as president to raise the minimum wage and strengthen worker protections,” writes The Hill.

“Today, we live in the wealthiest country in the history of the world. But tens of millions of workers don’t know that, because they’re working longer hours for low wages,” Sanders said during the town hall. “Does anybody think that that is moral, or that is right?”

“I’m proud to march alongside @McDonalds workers in Durham, NC this morning striking for fairer wages, better conditions, and the right to unionize. I’m going to join workers anywhere they’re fighting for a living wage and safe working conditions,” posted Julian Castro on Twitter.

DELICIOUS DIPLOMACY: Kim Jong Un Hopes to Open MCDONALD’S in North Korea

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.04.18

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is reportedly working hard to open a McDonald’s restaurant in the heart of his nations’ capital in recent weeks, sending a “goodwill gesture” towards the United States ahead of next months’ possible talks with President Trump.

According to Fox News, the communist leader wants to open the fast-service restaurant in Pyongyang as both North Korean officials and their US counterparts prepare for potential denuclearization negotiations.

Kim Jong Un’s late father was such a fan of the iconic American restaurant that he reportedly had the hamburgers flown into North Korea from the nearest McDonald’s restaurant in neighboring China.

“Compared to the threat of nuclear war, of course, a Pyongyang McDonald’s seems like small fries. But experts and history suggest there’s more at play here than one token franchise,” writes the Washington Post.
