President Trump escalated his war of words with the National Football League on Tuesday, saying Americans have had enough with players “taking a knee” during the national anthem and calling officials “weak and out of control.”
The President vented his frustration with the embattled league on social media after a weekend of professional athletes protesting the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’
“At least 24 players kneeling this weekend at NFL stadiums that are now having a very hard time filling up. The American public is fed up with the disrespect the NFL is paying to our Country, our Flag and our National Anthem. Weak and out of control!” he tweeted.

The President’s feud with the NFL goes back to earlier this year, when Trump called for a national boycott of the league until officials and owners banned political protests on-field.
As a result, the organization and television networks may lose upwards of $500 million as furious fans change the channel and choose to stay home.
