TOTAL DISASTER: Ratings for Sunday Night Football PLUNGE 28% as Angry Fans Tell NFL ‘NO THANKS!’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.14.20

The ratings trouble for the National Football League is actually worse than industry insiders predicted, with viewership for Sunday Night Football down a shocking 28% in key demographics and 23% overall.

“Even with the usual ratings gold of Jerry Jones’ team on the field, the NFL and NBC didn’t get that win – at least not in the early numbers. Despite two teams with big national followings, SNF snared a 4.7 in early ratings among adults 18-49 and 14.81 million viewers last night,” reports Deadline.

“In numbers certain to change, that’s a fall of 28% in the demo and a hard decline of 23% in sets of eyeballs from the early numbers of the the September 8, 2019 SNF season debut. While the early Nielsen data lacks West Coast numbers — kind of important when you have a team from the Los Angeles market in the mix — this result is going to be hard pill for the NFL and NBC to swallow,” adds the website.

AMERICA’S GAME? NFL FINES Athlete Over Santa Shoes, ALLOWS Players to TRASH US Flag

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.29.17

The “disgraceful” NFL reached a new low this week, fining a professional athlete for wearing red, Christmas-themed cleats during last Sunday’s game while permitting other players to blatantly disrespect the US national anthem and flag.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was fined over $6,000 for his holiday cheer; wearing the footwear to promote a GoFundMe page he created to provide football cleats to underprivileged youth hoping to play the game.

“Unfortunately The Grinch stole Christmas!! After the game I said that I would make a gofundme for the fine and donate the proceeds to charity sooooo…. here we are!” he wrote. “A donation will be made to  Willie Hall playgrounds recreational department to provide cleats for their youth football programs.”

“Yeah, they were worth it,” Kamara told reporters.

The league’s decision to fine Kamara over his footwear raised eyebrows across the sports community on Friday, following months of the NFL permitting players to openly make political demonstrations on the field without any fines or consequences.

ANTI-SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook Introducing ‘TRUSTWORTHINESS RATING’ for All Users

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.21.18

Social media giant Facebook is quietly introduced new technology that assigns its users a “trustworthiness score” between zero and one; ranking people who appear to be malicious actors as a method of cracking down on “fake news.”

According to the Washington Post, Facebook has been working on the software for more than a year in a prolonged campaign to remove individuals seeking to “game tech systems” for negative purposes.

“The previously unreported ratings system, which Facebook has developed over the last year, shows that the fight against the gaming of tech systems has evolved to include measuring the credibility of users to help identify malicious actors,” writes the Post.

The developers behind the project aren’t disclosing what factors will influence a user’s rating; adding the score will not be an “absolute indicator” and may fluctuate over time.

“The score is one measurement among thousands of new behavioral clues that Facebook now takes into account as it seeks to understand risk. Facebook is also monitoring which users have a propensity to flag content published by others as problematic, and which publishers are considered trustworthy by user,” adds the article.
