Just 24 hours after congressional Democrats took control of the House of Representatives one left-wing lawmaker is already introducing legislation that could entirely “eliminate” the Electoral College.
Congressman Steve Cohen of Tennessee unveiled the proposal on his official website Friday, saying the legislation would “eliminate the Electoral College and provide for the direct election of the President and Vice President of the United States.”
“In two presidential elections since 2000, including the most recent one in which Hillary Clinton won 2.8 million more votes than her opponent, the winner of the popular vote did not win the election because of the distorting effect of the outdated Electoral College. Americans expect and deserve the winner of the popular vote to win office. More than a century ago, we amended our Constitution to provide for the direct election of U.S. Senators. It is past time to directly elect our President and Vice President,” said the statement.

IRONY ALERT: Hillary Slams ‘SECRET MONEY’ in Politics, Calls for ‘ABOLISHMENT’ of Electoral College
Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stunned political insiders and operatives across the country this week; abruptly calling for the end of the Electoral College and slamming “secret money” in political elections.
Clinton published an unexpected article in the Atlantic Sunday evening titled, ‘American Democracy is in Crisis.” In it, the former Secretary of State calls for increased transparency behind political donations and fundraisers across the country.
“We need to overturn Citizens United and get secret money out of our politics. And you won’t be surprised to hear that I passionately believe it’s time to abolish the Electoral College,” writes Clinton.
“Democracy may be our birthright as Americans, but it’s not something we can ever take for granted. Every generation has to fight for it, has to push us closer to that more perfect union. That time has come again,” she adds.

MORE EXCUSES: Hillary Trashes ‘MADDENING’ Electoral College for 2016 Loss
Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton found another excuse for her 2016 defeat to Donald Trump this week, this time slamming the “maddening” and “troubling” electoral college for her election disaster.
The former Secretary of State was speaking at Harvard University when she predictably re-hashed her 2016 race for the White House; this time blasting the “odd system” she believes cost her the presidency.
“I know this is another really obvious thing to say. Vote in every election, not just presidential elections,” Clinton said. “You know, it is maddening because one of the panelists said we get the government that we vote for. Now, we have this odd system with the Electoral College.”
“It’s a little troubling… But nevertheless, we’ve got it. I’ve been against it, by the way, since 2000,” Clinton added. “Not that you need to know that … I have been, because I just think it is absolutely contrary to ‘one person, one vote.'”
