Jokes in the Oval.
President Trump drew laughter in the Oval Office on Monday by jokingly proposing to nominate Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to the Supreme Court, telling those gathered that the pick would win unanimous Senate confirmation because lawmakers would be eager to remove him from the upper chamber.
“He’s done a wonderful job as a Senator. Highly respected. In fact, somebody asked, ‘Would you ever appoint him to the United States Supreme Court?'” Trump said.
“Well, he’s the only one I can think of who will get 100 votes. All Republicans would vote for him. All Democrats would vote for him because they want to get him the Hell out of the Senate,” Trump joked.
