Rock legend Tina Turner has died at 83.
According to a report from The New York Post, Tina Turner passed away peacefully in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. The news was confirmed by her official Instagram account.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” the statement said. “With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

She had 12 total Grammy Awards, including eight competitive awards, three Grammy Hall of Fame awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Throughout her career, she collaborated — and solidified longtime friendships with — numerous artists, including David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Bryan Adams.
Tina retired from music in 2009 after completing her “Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour.”
