THE PARTY OF PARENTS: Ohio GOP Introduces Parental Rights in Education Bill

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.06.22

Florida. Texas. Now, Ohio.

Reps. Mike Loychik (R-OH) and Jean Schmidt (R-OH) have introduced HB 6161 —a bill similar to Governor Ron DeSantis’ Parental Rights in Education bill. The representatives say the bill would ban sexual identity and gender instruction in grades K-3.

“The classroom is a place that seeks answers for our children without political activism,” Schmidt said in a statement. “Parents deserve and should be provided a say in what is taught to their children in schools. The intent of this bill is to provide them with the tools to be able to see what their child is being taught.”

“Curriculum about gender identity and sexuality has no place in K-3 classrooms, period,” Loychik tweeted. “That’s why I just introduced a bill to ban curriculum about sexuality and gender identity until 3rd grade in Ohio.”
