Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has a simple question for Small Business Administration Associate Administrator Mark Madrid —but Madrid just won’t answer. “Do you believe the taxpayer has a right to know how you spend their money?” Paul asks.
Madrid manages to talk for five minutes without saying anything —he certainly never comes close to answering the Senator’s question. Madrid explains his purview is to “assist his resource partner network” and other bureaucratic bull.
“It’s a yes or no. Can you acknowledge that, yes, citizens have a right to know how you spend their money?”
Madrid assures Paul he’d be happy to talk about his “tax preparation classes with our resources partners.”
“You refuse to answer the questions —you don’t even respond to us,” Paul says towards the end of the exchange.
