A stunning new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed average Americans spent more on taxes in 2017 than they did on feeding and clothing their families; shocking voters as Democrats call for higher taxes heading into the 2018 midterm elections.
According to CNS News, American households spent an average of $9,562 on clothes and food last year. The same “consumer units” paid roughly $16,000 in federal, state, and local taxes during the same period.
“The average 2017 tax bill included $7,819 in federal income taxes; $2,098 in state and local income taxes; and $51 in other taxes—which the BLS rounded to a subtotal of $9,967,” writes CNS.
“A consumer unit,” according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics “is defined as either (1) all members of a particular household who are related by blood, marriage, adoption, or other legal arrangements; (2) a person living alone or sharing a household with others or living as a roomer in a private home or lodging house or in permanent living quarters in a hotel or motel, but who is financially independent; or (3) two or more persons living together who pool their income to make joint expenditure decisions.”

BERNIE’S BLUFF: Sanders Claims ‘Medicare for All’ Would ‘SAVE $2 TRILLION’
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders refused to accept a recent study that showed his “medicare for all” program would cost US taxpayers over $32 trillion; releasing a new video that claims universal healthcare would actually save $2 trillion over ten years.
Sanders released the video on social media just hours after a George Mason University study estimated the astronomical price-tag associated with the potential proposal; finding it would likely cost over $32.6 trillion.

IT’S OFFICIAL: 60 House Democrats Create ‘Medicare for All’ Caucus
Liberal legislators are preparing an all-out push for a universal healthcare system heading into the 2018 midterms, with Congressional Democrats creating an official “Medicare for All’ Caucus to promote the massive federal entitlement.
According to the Hill, at least 60 House Democrats created the caucus this week in a bid to craft legislation that would guarantee health coverage to every American across the country.
“More than 60 House Democrats launched a Medicare for All Congressional Caucus this month, a sign of the popularity surrounding the concept of a government-run health insurance system for everyone that’s supported by liberal firebrands like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” writes the Hill.
Rep. Debbie Dingell -the co-chair of the caucus- praised the liberal platform Tuesday, saying “We’re going to do what it takes to get health care for every American.”
“The idea would be to introduce something that has a little bit more detail and is an actual legislative path,” added another member.
