TAPPED OUT: FBI’s McCabe RAISES $500,000 Online for LEGAL FIGHT Against Trump

An online fundraiser for recently fired Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe tripled its initial goal over the weekend; raising over $540,000 after asking for donations following his sudden dismissal from the agency.

According to the New York Post, the GoFundMe campaign smashed expectations of its initial goal of $150,000 and will stop accepting donations later Monday evening.

“The outpouring of support on GoFundMe has been simply overwhelming and has led to contributions that have left us stunned and extraordinarily grateful,” said McCabe.

“I never imagined that I would need to rely on this type of assistance. The fact is that if I am going to continue taking a stand against the unfair way I have been treated, I will need the help of a talented and courageous team behind me,” he added.

Attorney General Sessions suddenly fired Andrew McCabe last month, following an impending Inspector General report that claimed the Deputy Director had violated federal guidelines during his tenure at the agency.

“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!” tweeted the President after his removal.

ADAM’S ADMISSION: Schiff ADMITS McCabe’s FIRING ‘May Be Justified’

Ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff acknowledged Sunday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ decision to suddenly fire FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe “may be justified,” seconds before calling the move “tainted.”

Schiff was speaking with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos when he was asked to comment on Sessions’ abrupt removal of the senior FBI official just days before he was due to retire.

“On Andrew McCabe, does the fact that the Inspector General did find that he lacked candor in some of his responses, and that his firing was recommended by career FBI officials. Does that suggest that his firing was or may be justified?” asked Stephanopoulos.

“His firing may be justified, there’s no way for us to know at this point,” admitted Schiff. “Even though it may have been justified, it can also be tainted.”

“I think the President badgering his Attorney General, his urging that he be fired before his pension could vest, and the fact that McCabe and every other Comey associates […] every one of them has been targeted by the administration,” he added.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe re-emerged Thursday, asking for online donations to help support his legal defense fund just weeks after he was suddenly fired before he was set to receive his pension from the bureau.

McCabe was abruptly ousted by FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Jeff Sessions earlier this month over an upcoming report from the Inspector General about possible violations of federal protocol during his tenure at the agency.

“The support for Andrew #McCabe has been overwhelming, humbling & deeply appreciated. Unfortunately, the need for a legal defense fund is a growing reality. Please click here for info about the official Andrew McCabe Legal Defense Fund: https://www.gofundme.com/andrewmccabelegaldefensefund … … via @gofundme” tweeted a spokesperson for the former Deputy Director.

“Sessions fired McCabe earlier this month after the DOJ’s inspector general determined McCabe was not truthful during his review of the Clinton email investigation and the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility recommended his firing,” writes Fox News.
