T-MINUS 10: Statistical Four-Way Tie Just 10 Days Ahead of Iowa Caucus

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.24.20

The remaining top Democrats are struggling to break a statistical four-way tie heading into the Iowa Caucus; with Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg hoping to break-out in the nation’s first contest of the 2020 election.

“As Joe Biden wrapped a bus tour of Iowa this week, the elderly crowd gathered at VFW Hall 7920 was a stark reminder of the former vice president’s struggle to attract young people,” reports the Associated Press. “Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, needs to strengthen his standing with older voters. Elizabeth Warren has room to grow among those without college degrees. Pete Buttigieg’s support with African Americans is negligible, and the buzz that surrounds Amy Klobuchar belies the fact that she’s barely registering with virtually any key demographic.”

Current polling has the top-tier candidates battling it out, with many predicting a win for Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden.

“Every Democrat needs to work as hard as they can to coalesce those groups,” said one political insider. “I think some have shown in the polling that they can have a base with one or two of them, but not the whole coalition.”

ANOTHER EXCUSE: Cory Booker Says Senate Impeachment Trial Could Cost Him Iowa Caucus

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.09.20

Failing presidential candidate Cory Booker weighed-in this week on a potential Impeachment trial in the US Senate; saying the proceedings could potentially cost him the Iowa Caucus and other contests.

“If this trial lasts two weeks, that is literally dozens of events we won’t be able to do,” Booker said.

“It’s going to be a challenging four weeks in the caucus for us,” Booker said during a recent podcast. “If we can’t raise more money in this final stretch, we won’t be able to do the things that other campaigns with more money can do to show presence.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is under growing pressure from Congressional lawmakers to finally transmit her Articles of Impeachment to the US Senate.

“I understand what the speaker is trying to do, basically trying to use the leverage of that to work with Democratic and Republican senators to try to get a reasonable trial, a trial that would actually show evidence, bring out witnesses,” Rep. Adam Smith told CNN. “But at the end of the day, just like we control it in the House, Mitch McConnell controls it in the Senate.”

“I think it was perfectly advisable for the speaker to try to leverage that to get a better deal,” he continued. “At this point, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. And yes, I think it is time to send the impeachment to the Senate and let Mitch McConnell be responsible for the fairness of the trial. He ultimately is.”

Senator Dianne Feinstein urged Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to end her political stunt regarding the Articles of Impeachment Wednesday; telling the top Democrat to send the documents to the US Senate if it’s truly “serious and urgent.”

“Time plays an unknown role in all of this, and the longer it goes on, the less the urgency becomes. So if it’s serious and urgent, it should come over. If it isn’t, don’t send it over,” said Feinstein.

“I’m not a big fan of impeachment but I think there’s enough to take a good look, and we should,” she said.

“I think it needs to start. I really do,” said Sen. Joe Manchin. “Let us do what we have to do over here.”

“I think the time has passed. She should send the articles over,” added Sen. Chris Murphy.

INSIDERS: Joe Biden in Serious Danger of ‘Crippling Defeat’ in Iowa Caucus

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.29.19

Democratic insiders are raising serious concerns that former Vice President Joe Biden is in danger of a “humiliating defeat” in the upcoming Iowa caucus; further damaging his perception as the frontrunner for his party’s nomination.

“With fewer than 100 days until the Feb. 3 caucuses, Biden is failing to spend the time with small groups of voters and party officials that Iowans expect and his campaign’s outreach has been largely ineffective, according to 11 senior Democrats in the state. They worry that could send Biden to a crippling loss behind Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg, who have highly organized campaigns in Iowa, said the Democrats, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity to speak candidly about the campaign,” reports Yahoo News.

“I think it’s fair to say if action isn’t taken soon, you’re going to find that a person who was 7 or 14 points behind Biden will be breathing down his neck or actually ahead of him,” said Kurt Meyer, chairman of the Mitchell County Democratic Party. “There’s still time because the caucuses are not on Oct. 27, but action needs to be taken.”

A humiliating defeat in Iowa would not likely end the former Vice President’s 2020 campaign, but would seriously damage his public perception going into future races.

“The baseline here is we feel really good about what we’re doing,” said Pete Kavanaugh, Biden’s deputy campaign manager. “We’re laser-focused on two things: Recruiting volunteers and precinct captains and talking to voters.”
