A student carrying a pro-Donald Trump flag was physically assaulted during their school’s ‘Walk Out’ protest of the nation’s gun laws Wednesday, with local police confirming the incident and saying the un-named individual suffered “minor injuries.”
According to CBS Minnesota, two students confronted the Minneapolis teen when they noticed the ‘Trump’ flag, approaching the President’s supporter along with six other students as the school observed a seventeen-minute ‘moment of silence’ to remember those killed in the Parkland, Florida shooting last month.
“Six other students joined in the confrontation, taking away his flag, damaging his camera and inflicting minor injuries,” writes CBS. “Police say a school resource officer intervened, and is investigating the attack.”
News of the assault comes as other instances of violence were reported throughout the country during the student protests.
In Nashville, Tennessee, a large group of students trashed an American flag during the nationwide demonstration, with teachers and bystanders idly standing by.
No arrests in either incident have been made.
