Speaker of the House Mike Johnson stopped by Hannity Wednesday night to discuss ongoing efforts to avoid a government shutdown. Johnson described a recent meeting with Leaders Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and President Joe Biden.
“Reports were that they ganged up on you yesterday…Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell, and Chuck Schumer — any truth to that?” host Sean Hannity asked Johnson.
“The reports are pretty accurate. They said I was ‘on an island by myself and it was me against everyone else in the rest of the room.’ What the liberal media doesn’t understand is that…if you’re described as a leader who is on an island by themselves, you’re probably standing with the American people,” Johnson told Hannity.
“I reminded the President and all involved that the number one issue in America is that open border…he must address it with his Executive authority,” Johnson stressed.
Johnson also recounts an interaction with President Biden where Joe claimed not to have the authority to reinstate “Remain in Mexico.”
