According to multiple reports, anchor Jim Acosta is leaving CNN after being pulled from the morning schedule. Acosta announced his decision to leave Tuesday morning.
Acosta thanked the people who work “behind the scenes” at CNN and teasing he will have “more to say on his plans” in the coming days.
Acosta also shared his favorite moment while working for CNN.
“People often ask me if the highlight of my time here at CNN was at the White House covering Donald Trump,” he said Tuesday. “Actually, that moment came when I covered former president Barack Obama’s trip to Cuba in 2016 and had the chance to question the dictator there about the island’s political prisoners.”

Fox News contributor Joe Concha shared the story on X, joking that there’s only one place for Acosta to go from failing CNN — failing MSDNC.

President Trump, who frequently sparred with Acosta during his first term in the White House, reacted to his exit on TRUTH Social:
Wow, really good news! Jim Acosta, one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history, a major sleazebag, has been relegated by CNN Fake News to the Midnight hour, “Death Valley,” because of extraordinarily BAD RATINGS (and no talent!). Word is that he wants to QUIT, and that would be even better. Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck Jim!
Acosta’s newscast is set to be replaced by a program anchored by longtime network hosts Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown.
