How many more assassination attempts before they tone it down?
Michigan’s Elissa Slotkin was blasted on X this week after clips went viral of the Senator calling President Trump an “existential threat to democracy.”
“The debate now among Democrats is how to answer the following question: Is Donald Trump an existential threat to Democracy in his second term? Or is Donald Trump’s second term bad, but like his first term, survivable, if we wait it out?”
“I am in camp number one: he is an existential threat to democracy,” Slotkin said to applause.
X account RNC Research shared the clip, saying, “Unhinged Democrat Elissa Slotkin calls President Trump an ‘existential threat to democracy.’ This is exactly the type of rhetoric that led to two assassination attempts. Shameful.”

Slotkin also called Border Czar Tom Homan “Thomas Holgren” and claimed Trump’s border policies have been a disaster.

Despite Slotkin’s claims, the Trump Administration’s efforts to secure the border have been undeniably successful, with Homan being a key player in that success.
In July, for the third consecutive month, Border Patrol agents released zero migrants into the U.S. interior, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) press release. The numbers stand in stark contrast to the Biden-era peak, when tens of thousands of illegal migrants were released monthly.
“History made, again. The numbers don’t lie — this is the most secure the border has ever been,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a public statement.
“President Trump didn’t just manage the crisis — he obliterated it. No more excuses. No more releases,” Noem continued. “We’ve put the cartels on defense and taken our border back.”
“Stats don’t lie. Border Security IS National Security and we will continue to unapologetically enforce our nation’s laws,” Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks stated Friday on X.
